iPad Mini is going 120 hz

iPad Mini 7 is getting 120hz

💵 → ???
🗓️ → Late 2023 or early 2024
We have been getting early rumors of an iPad Mini 7, which claim that the “main selling point” will be an updated processor; however, rumors also claim Apple has been ordering 8.3” displays that run at 120 hz, which lines up with the rumor that the iPad Mini 7 will be receiving 120 hz displays.
Aside from new colors and increased storage, there aren’t any other expected upgrades.
Galaxy Fold5 and Flip 5 are here…

💵 → $1800 (Fold5) — $1000 (Flip5)
Samsung unveiled its 5th gen folding phone lineup, featuring thinner and lighter designs that fold completely flat and have greater durability, as well as a larger cover screen and higher base storage for the Flip.
Unfortunately, those are really the only upgrades for the most part. Yeah, they seem kinda boring—which is a little disappointing considering they cost the same as last year—but if you want to hear my thoughts on them and the state of folding phones in general, check out this note I wrote:
Pre-ordering either phone will give you the 512 GB storage option for the same price as the base 256 GB option.
Sony’s WF-1000XM5 are here!

💵 → $299.00
Last week, Sony unveiled their new flagship earbuds with comfort as the main focus. Upgrades include…
25% smaller and 20% lighter design
15% smaller case
“SS” (extra small) ear tip
Glossy and matte build
Upgraded fast charging (3 min = 1 hr playback)
Upgraded ANC
Upgraded call quality
Upgraded sound quality
Head tracking for 360 Reality Audio
With the XM4s being bulky and uncomfortable, it’s great to see Sony working out this problem while still managing to make them better in other areas as well.
Goodbye Twitter, hello X

Elon Musk recently announced the rebranding of Twitter as X during Twitter’s conversion into an ‘everything’ app (akin to Chinese app WeChat). Ultimately, X is planned to become “the future state of unlimited interactivity — centered in audio, video, messaging, payments/banking — creating a global marketplace for ideas, goods, services, and opportunities.”
Anyway, that’s all for this week. Adios 👋
